It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!!

This morning, we woke up to a winter wonderland. Except, you don't really want a winter wonderland when you are 17 and need to go to work. At first, I thought it wouldn't be that bad... until I actually looked out the window.
This is the top six inches of our fence...everything else = buried...
White out conditions...

For someone who is not too fond of snow, I AM LIVING IN THE WRONG PLACE!!! Last year our house got completely buried in the snow several times, and this year is promising to be more of the same.
Fortunately, we have AWESOME neighbors who love us very much. One came with a 4-wheeler-snowplow, another came with an actual little truck-snowplow (seen below), and another had his massive loader to dig out a stuck car.

The finished product. It's snowed fairly consistently the entire day, but our driveway has stayed clean since our loving neighborhood dug us out. What you can't see is the six-foot tall mound of cleared snow to the right. At least we know that won't melt anytime soon!

Unfortunately, though, I did not make it into work. Maybe tomorrow, though...

Christmas - IT'S COMING!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this time of year! There's snow on the ground, lots of shopping to do, new Christmas cards coming every day in the mail, amazing smells coming from the kitchen - what more could you ask for?? For the first time, I actually knew what I wanted to get everyone for Christmas and am now totally done with my Christmas shopping!! If you know how much I procrastinate in EVERYTHING in my life, you know just how amazing this is for me. =D Morgan and Zane ask everynight as we're getting ready for bed if it's the night that Santa's coming. Only a few more days!!!

I AM ALIVE!!! ... and Basketball Season is HERE!!

Yeah, things have been just a little hectic lately. First finals, then Thanksgiving, and then a new trimester starting - all that doesn't leave much time to sit at the computer and blog! BUT... I have made time to go to both of the boys' basketball games so far. So allow me to sound like the crazy 17-year-old I am for a moment... :)

The first game was great - we won against Malad 43-37 or something like that. It was a great way to start the season. Then, last Friday we played Kimberly. Um, can you say INTENSE?!?! I about had a panic attack right there in the stands. We won in double overtime 56-53. Yeah. Anyone who has seen me cheer at a game knows how into it I can get. Let's just say - I was cheering very enthusiastically with that close of a game. And we got on the news. Cool cool!

The girls have done fairly well too, as far as I know. For some reason, I keep closer tabs on the boys' record than the girls'. But I think they've won half of their games so far, which is way good. Nice job guys!!!

wy skuul?

I'm totally kidding!!!! I think that the fact that i'm in this situation proves just how ... not-smart I am, though. At the end of last year, the school had us go through and register for all the classes we wanted/needed to take this year. As I've said before, I decided to take three Dual-Enrollment courses, along with Chemistry as my core classes this year. UNFORTUNATELY... the classes overlap really bad, and not only does taking so many of them limit my electives, it also prevents me from being able to take Seminary all three trimesters.

What does this mean? Well, pretty much, since all the classes overlap, I have a couple of holes in my new schedule (that starts next week), and a couple of classes that I'm enrolled in for the same hour. Not good. Also, I decided I wanted to find a way to fit Seminary in this trimester, so even though our lovely hardworking registrar and counselors have worked tirelessly to make my schedule fit together, now I've decided to try and get out of taking either Health or US History - which are both required.

In short - I tried to act like I was super-intelligent, and look where that got me!!! Nah, I'm just kidding. But seriously. Unless I want to take a class online on top of all my other school work, I'm looking at not having Seminary for the next three months - which means having to think hard, all day everyday. What to do, what to do...

THE END!

FINALS!! THEY'RE HERE!! I can't believe that a third of this school year is already gone. Normally I would be ecstatic at the prospect of starting new classes next week, but guess what? I got my schedule for the rest of the year - the only thing that changes is that instead of Economics I'll now have Health 6th hour, and 3rd hour I'll have US History, instead of Seminary. In fact, I don't even get to have Seminary at all this next trimester! But I will have it again last trimester, so I do have that to look forward to I guess.

The only final exams that I'm really worried about failing are: Econ, Chemistry, and the Essay final for Composition 101. All the others I am fairly confident in. Ü

Oh, and I wanted to say congrats Suzie, LiAnna, and Kaleah for making varsity! Way to go jun10rs! Luv ya girls! And good luck this season!

¡La clase de español es muy interesante!

I love my Spanish class this year. I'm taking a total of eleven college credits this year through the Dual-Enrollment program: Composition 101, Spanish 101, and Calculus 170. My English class is a bit hard core at times, but my Spanish and Calculus classes are awesome!

For my Spanish class, we are pretty much relearning everything we've learned over the past two years. Pretty dang easy! I love it because I feel like I'm . . . honing my skills, if that's the right way to put it. And for Calculus, since we didn't have a chance to take a Pre-Calculus last year, we are just going over all the things that we went over last year. Right now we're talking about right triangles again. LOVE IT! Even though these are supposed to be college level classes, they are my easiest and favorite classes of the day! I love school!

Halloween!

Wow, Halloween already came and went! I hate the thought of that because that means one thing - less than a week till my birthday!! I don't know why, but I dread Halloween every year simply for that reason. Once my birthday comes, I'm ok, but it's this week in between that kills me. Dunno why... But, on a more positive note, I love Halloween because I don't have to go trick-or-treating anymore; I just steal all of Morgan's and Zane's good candy! Whoever said that younger siblings weren't a good thing never had younger siblings, evidently. =D

School has been absolutely insane lately! But my English teacher's wife just had her baby, so I guess I should forgive him for making my life suck so much lately (congrats, Hami). But I can honestly say this, and I may never say it again - his new daughter was actually a really cute newborn. Never said that of a newborn before, probably never will get to again. Just saying. Here's where her picture is: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3YPeBzlFkr0MqsD5dCQYg1Shm0cYwRndVAzW68-fPQMQHX4b932U94Gdw0g9aT9vCpUBq_LRWw-5Y120dGDxWUJnA-KpoTW_8wZOaWEuIcmyJYIZ4IJRKUdDkSPmu5Ckijmtp_6bWv9eF/s1600-h/IMG_1882.JPG

Congrats, again, Hami!

Identity Pics

These are the pictures that I had to post for our class blog that i feel "define [my] identity as an individual". I actually didn't even realize until after I posted the pictures that they are both sunset pictures. Maybe that says something about me that I didn't realize before... hmm.. =D

Anyways, the first picture is one that I took outside of our house above the cornfield. I just loved all of the colors above the tassles!!! The second picture is one that mom took on our trip to the Oregon Coast this summer. Gotta love the reflections... Peace out!

Okay...

I am going to just write something, but this will most likely be the only post on here. I only set this up because of my Gmail account, but hey, if I could find the time to keep up with this, maybe this can fulfill my pitiful attempts at journaling. =D Mostly though, I think this will be it, for me. Facebook keeps me busy enough.
